Tea Production Process in Jeju

  • Sourcing: After the harvest, tea leaves are collected from small farms across Jeju.
  • Sorting: The youngest leaves are used to produce a selection of teas, with each variety offering unique flavors and aromas.
  • Drying: After steaming, the tea leaves are dried under controlled sunlight, which mellows the flavors.
  • Grinding: The dried leaves are ground into fine powder, preserving their natural qualities.
  • Bottling: The final product is bottled to maintain freshness and quality.

Hojicha

Hojicha is a finely ground powdered tea, similar to matcha, made by roasting tea leaves once more. The unique toasty and earthy flavors, combined with a mild bitterness, give it a deep, savory taste.

How to Enjoy Hojicha

1. Prepare a deep bowl that can hold hojicha. Add a suitable amount of hojicha powder with a teaspoon, adjusting the amount to taste.

2. Using boiled water, pour over the hojicha powder to mellow out the bitterness and enhance the fresh, natural flavors. Let the boiled water cool for about 1 minute, then pour around 50 ml into the bowl.

3. Whisk for about 30 seconds until a fine foam appears. If you dont have a whisk, use a teaspoon to dissolve the powder fully.

4. Enjoy the prepared hojicha as is, or with milk or water to experience the natural health benefits. You can add sweeteners for a richer taste if desired. SANNOLU Hojicha preserves the natural essence without additives.
